Welcome back to day 7 of my 12 Days of Christmas posts. When it comes to my everyday life, makeup isn’t something I tend to worry about. I am a minimalist girl at heart and I think my ‘everyday’ makeup bag shows that. On the days when I have work, or just feel like I want a little extra coverage on my face, this is what I dive into. Otherwise I go barefaced! So if you want to see what I keep in my everyday makeup bag, then keep on reading.

First up is primer because not to prime is a crime, right? I don’t actually believe in that saying but anyway. I use primer mainly to even out my skin texture, or to add even more moisture when my skin is feeling dehydrated. Lately I have been loving this mini sample of Tatcha’s The Liquid Silk Canvas as I find it does everything I need all on its own. It fills in the pores around my nose, while also hydrating my t-zone and helping to reduce the dry skin around my face. I had also been loving the Stila One Step Correct primer for the same reasons, however I ran out of this a few weeks ago and made the switch over to the Tatcha primer.
Next up I go straight to concealer. For this I use the NYX Can’t Stop Won’t Stop concealer. I like this concealer for under the eyes as I find it doesn’t dry up on my skin like others have done in the past. I put a few dots around my face also and blend them in. It gives me enough coverage to just even out my skin tone without being too heavy on my face. I had been swapping between this concealer and the Australis Fresh & Flawless concealer but, you guessed it, I ran out of that a few weeks ago also.
Then I move onto powder. For this I have always, and will always use the Australis Fresh & Flawless pressed powder. This product is a dupe for the cult favourite MAC Cosmetics powders, however this one is a fraction of the cost and is completely cruelty free! I love that even though it is a pressed powder, it is so finely milled that it is not too heavy on the face and it doesn’t add to the coverage. On days when my skin is feeling a little dry, I only use it under the eyes and around my t-zone area, otherwise I pop it all over my face and I am good to go.
Once my face is all set in place, I move onto bronzer and blush. For this I have been absolutely loving my Hourglass x Mecca birthday edition of the Ambient Lighting Palette. This was released a few years ago and you can no longer buy this exact palette, but I know Hourglass makes similar ones, or you can even get your hands on the single products. I love the luminosity of the shades in this palette, they really make my skin look healthy and fresh. I bronze up in the usual places and then pop a small amount of blush over my cheeks and on the bridge of my nose (I like that look). I found these powders blend so effortlessly into the skin and make me look radiant and sun kissed without going overboard. I definitely want to purchase these in their single forms but for now, this palette will do.
Now that the face is done, I move on to eyes. Well, actually I just put mascara on. I curl my lashes so they pop up nice and fluffy and then put on my favourite waterproof mascara which is the Covergirl Lashblast Fusion mascara. Why waterproof you may ask? Well, my eyelids tend to get oily during the day and I have always had trouble with my mascara transferring onto my eyelid. In order to avoid that messy look I have found that waterproof or water resistant mascaras work best for me. This product gives you a more natural look but adds darkness and length. I like the natural long look rather than the thick or clumpy look. I can’t even count the amount of these I have gone through in my lifetime, that’s how I know I love it. I had been using the Ulta3 Go To Great Lengths mascara but that sadly ran out a while back, so I reached for my original go to Covergirl one instead.
Last but certainly not least, it is time to take a look at those brows. I brush these bad boys through and add some shape and colour by using the Ulta3 Shade & Shape Brow Styler. I use the angled pencil end to fill in the tail and add hair-like strokes up to the front of my brow. I love this pencil because the colour is perfect for my brows, it isn’t too pigmented or too creamy so it stays in place all day and doesn’t give me ‘sharpie’ brows and it is super affordable. Then I set them in place using the Set & Stay Brow & Lash Gel. This product is great to keep the brows set in place. It doesn’t clump up and it doesn’t leave the hairs feeling stiff and crusty. *These products were sent to me for free*
