Ultra Violette | Skinscreen Review

Hi Beauties,

Do you wear sunscreen everyday? Do you wear sunscreen on your face everyday? Well you should be!! I have to admit that I neve used to bother with sunscreen (don’t get angry at me plz), but these days I am all about anti-aging and trying to protect my precious skin at all costs. In my hunt for the best ‘skin screen’ on the market, I found Ultra Violette. After seeing rave reviews on Instagram, I was excited to test them out. If you want to know more about Ultra Violette and their products, then keep on reading.

Firstly, I want to share a little info about the brand itself. Ultra Violette is paving the way with their skinscreen products. But, what exactly is a skinscreen I hear you ask? Basically, a skinscreen is the perfect combination of skincare and sunscreen! All their products are packed with hydrating ingredients that are just as potent and important as their SPF counterparts. Their products are perfectly made so that you can use them solo, or you can layer them with your other skincare faves or even makeup. You can pick up their products directly from their website, or they are also available on Sephora. I picked up a mini kit from Sephora earlier this year, so let’s have a closer look at that!

Clean Screen Fragrance Free Gel SPF 30 was the first product I put to the test. This product is great for more acne prone skin due to the fact that, as the name suggests, it is fragrance free. Ultra Violette describes this skinscreen as being lightweight with a gel texture, which I definitely have to agree with. They suggested that this can be used in place of a moisturiser, as the final step of your skincare routine. So what did I think of it? Well, this skinscreen is more matte compared to the others I tried. Even though it is matte, it was still hydrating and didn’t feel heavy on my skin. I loved using this as a primer as I found it filled in my pores (like my favourite primes do) and it didn’t have that lingering sticky feeling that other sunscreens usually have. There was one down side however, if I used it for multiple days in a row I found that my skin started to feel more and more dry. I still loved this skinscreen and I think I will be repurchasing this one for the summer months when my skin is naturally more oily!

Next, I put the Supreme Screen Hydrating SPF 50+ to the test. This product is great for all the lazy beauties out there as it is the perfect moisturiser, sun protection and primer all in one little package! This one is more suited for those who have normal to dry skin, or for anyone who is unsure on which SPF would be right for them. They recommend that you apply it everyday (obviously) as the final step of your skincare routine, just before foundation application. It is also recommended that you use at least 5 pumps in order to properly cover your face, ears and neck! So what did I think of this one? Well, it has a much thinner consistency compared to the skinscreen above and it was super hydrating. This one has a slight fragrance but it was not too intense (smells like sunscreen). It did not irritate my skin at all and it did not feel heavy on my skin nor did it have a lingering sticky feeling. Compared to Clean Screen, this product would make my skin feel slightly oiler. I think I would repurchase this one in the winter months when my skin naturally gets more drier. I loved that it never left me with a white cast that you would expect normal sunscreens to give you.

The last skinscreen I put to the test was the Queen Screen Lightweight Skinscreen SPF 50+. This product is considered to be the High Priestess of Glow, and is ideal for normal to dry skin, or for anyone who wants to look arrogantly luminous (Ultra Violette’s words, not mine). This skinscreen is disguised as a serum and should be applied every single day (duh). It also has a beautiful rose scent. So what did I think of this one? Well, when they say it is glowy, they really mean it is glowy! I loved how this made my bare skin look, so when I had a bit of tan on and the weather was nice, I literally put this all over my skin and called it a day. It did make my skin oiler throughout the day, but that was to be expected. Again, it was lightweight, left no visible white cast, and worked great as a primer underneath my makeup. I would definitely repurchase this for an all year round glow!

Lastly we have Extreme Screen Hydrating Body + Hand Skinscreen SPF 50+. This super hydrating body and hand skinscreen offers you a full body glow and is 4 hours water and sweat resistant. They recommend that you slather on a solid dollop after your shower for a daily dose of glow, hydration and sun protection. You do need to use a hefty amount to cover your entire body, so this one will get used up pretty quickly. So what did I think of this one? I loved this body skinscreen so much! It didn’t have a white cast, it made my skin feel super hydrated and I had a glow that could be seen from outer space! I am always a little hesitant to put sunscreen all over my body, mainly because I fake tan and oil tends to break up the tan a lot quicker. But this one didn’t disrupt my tan too much!

Not sure what one will be best for you? Do what I did and purchase a mini set! It is such a great way to test out the product before you commit to the full sized price point. There are 4 different mini sets available on their website, so make sure you check them out to find out which one is right for you!

What are your current favourite face SPF’s? Have you tried Ultra Violette before? Make sure you leave me a comment and let me know 🙂

That’s all for now Beauties!
