Essence | 24ever Defined Volume Mascara | Review

Hi Beauties,

Essence isn’t a brand that I have had a lot of experience with, so when I recently received a package of a few of their new goodies, I knew I was in for a lot of reviewing and testing! I have heard so many amazing things about this affordable drugstore brand, and the main products I had been hearing some hype about is their mascaras. Enter Essence’s 24ever Defined Volume Mascara. If you want to hear my thoughts on this mascara, then keep on reading.

*This product was generously sent to me for free. I am under no obligation to review this product, nor am I being paid to promote it. All thoughts are my own.*

The Essence 24ever Defined Volume Mascara retails for $7 AUD and is available for us Aussies at Priceline. It is housed in a plastic cylinder tube. The wand is a little on the larger side and has soft, hair-like bristles. As I always mention in mascara reviews, I usually reach for waterproof or water resistant mascaras as I find those types of product don’t transfer onto my lid as much as others, so that will be the real test with this one! The Defined Volume Mascara is vegan, cruelty free and paraben free and contains 12mL of products.

The formula has a very liquid consistency and is extremely black. It is enriched with hemp seeds, almond oil, jojoba oil and vitamin e oil, all of which works together to help condition the lashes. I find this mascara does not build up as nicely as others I have used, but typically I only coat my lashes twice for a more natural effect (unless I am wearing falsies). I would say that the Defined Volume Mascara is volumising, but not super intense. My lashes definitely look darker and longer, but they aren’t super intense.

The Essence 24ever Defined Volume Mascara is such an affordable alternative that won’t break the bank. While it does coat, volumize and darken your lashes, I don’t think it is special enough that I would recommend you rush out and buy it right away. Will I continue to use it? Yes. Would I repurchase it? Probably not.

What is your current favourite mascara? Make sure you leave me a comment and let me know 🙂

That’s all for now Beauties!
