My Makeup Collection | Primers

Hi Beauties,

Welcome back to another blog post! Recently I have been looking at my makeup collection lately, (which is currently collecting dust as we are in week 10 of lockdown here in NSW and I haven’t been reaching for any makeup), and realised that I have never actually shared it all with you! I mean, I have shared my eyeshadow palette collection with you but that’s about it!

Today will start a new series that I am hoping to bring to you every other week until it’s finished! This way, you can see what I have in my collection, maybe spot a product that interests you, and you can ask me about it, or you can message me to say ‘hey Emma, review this for me would you?’. I am going to start at the very beginning and show you my primer collection today. So if you want a little sticky beak into my primer collection, then keep on reading.

*This post contains products that were sent to me for free, these will be clearly marked.*

In no particular order, let’s start with the NYX Cosmetics Marshmellow Primer. I purchased this one from Priceline back in March this year and it has been a favourite ever since. In fact, I will probably need to repurchase it soon as it is almost empty! I love this primer as it smooths my skin so nicely and makes whatever foundation or concealer I put over the top of it glide on smoothly. It also smells good enough to eat so that is a nice added bonus.

Next up we have the E.L.F. Poreless Putty Primer. I also purchased this one from Priceline back in March, but I haven’t had the chance to play with it and develop an opinion just yet. This primer was a hit on Instagram and TikTok a few months back and I have to admit that is what sucked me into buying it. I love most pore filling primers as the pores around my nose are on the larger side and I find that these types of primers really help in smoothing them out. So fingers crossed this one works well for me.

Say hello to the Mecca Cosmetica Fresh Faced Hydrating Primer. I picked up a sample size of this from Mecca back in May 2020. Back then my skin was more on the drier side compared to what it is now, so the ‘hydration’ claim is what drew me in. I haven’t picked up this primer in quite some time now, so I am not really sure what I think of it. I know back then I enjoyed the little burst of hydration it gave my skin, but in terms of prolonging my makeup, I can’t really make a comment.

This is the Stila One Step Correct Skin Tone Correcting & Brightening Primer. I know it looks like I haven’t even used this product, and technically that is true, but that is because this was a repurchase after I used up the first bottle of this I had in a matter of months. I seriously love this primer because it not only fills in my pores but it also gives me a hit of hydration also. I haven’t dived into this second bottle simply because I needed to give some other primers a chance.

Next up is the Ulta3 Perfect Balance Primer. I purchased this primer from Ulta3 back in December 2020 and I haven’t picked it up at all! (So bad I know). I was recommended this primer by a fellow beauty blogger friend of mine after she reviewed it. I love testing out affordable makeup brands because I truly believe that you don’t have to break the budget to find a nice product. I will definitely put this one to the test in the coming months and hopefully it amazes me.

Sticking with Ulta3, now we have two Base Boosting Drops. One is targeting more towards brightening the skin, while the other is targeted towards hydrating the skin. It honestly looks like I have never touched these products! When I first received them in a package from Ulta3 back in June of 2020, I was obsessed with them and used them whenever I had the chance. These days, I hardly reach for them, but I know they are too nice to get rid of. I vow to use them again this year!
*These products were sent to me for free*

Finally, we have the Too Faced Hangover X Primer. Initially, I picked up this in a sample size thinking it was a setting spray and when I got home and realised I was really disappointed. However, I used it a couple of weeks later and that all changed. I love this primer so much for an extra boost of hydration. I used it up in a matter of weeks and I repurchased this one back in December 2020. I haven’t used much of this new one, but again, that is only because I wanted to give some other primers a chance.

That is all the primers I have in my collection! Let me know which ones you would like to see full reviews on, or leave me a comment and recommend some new ones. I’d love to hear from you!

That’s all for now Beauties!
