ColourPop Cosmetics | Mystery Box Unboxing

Hi Beauties!

Welcome back to another blog post! Once again I will start by saying my apologies for missing last week’s post, I decided I need a mental health break and then it just so happened that I got sick! Anyway, I have a feeling today’s post is going to be a bit of a long one so I’m going to jump straight into it. I hope you enjoy!

Recently, whilst doing some research, I went to the ColourPop Cosmetics website and noticed they were doing mystery boxes. I was super excited (I have never brought a mystery box before) and decided to purchase the big boy, the Mega Mystery box. I have since seen a few videos on what to expect in this box, and some disappointed Beauties were saying that it is mostly discontinued products (I will link the products where possible). This box set me back $89 USD and is meant to include products with a total worth of over $200 USD. So, if you want to know all the tea from the ColourPop mystery boxes, then keep on reading.

First up we have two of the Act Natural Mascaras in the shades Black and Brown and these retail for $9 USD each. As someone who has recently been looking for a brown mascara to test out, this is perfect for me! This mascara is meant to give your natural lashes a boost with a smudge-proof, clump-free, and easy-to-remove formula. I haven’t tried this mascara before so I am pretty keen to see if it is a good one or not. If you want to see a full review, please let me know!
Total so far – $18 USD

Next up we have two Lippie Stix in the shades Poison and Who Run This and these retail for $7 USD each. Poison is a matte brick red shade and Who Run This is a vibrant rusty red matte shade. I have tried ColourPop’s Lippie Stix in the past and I really loved them so I am super happy with these. It’s a great bonus that these shades are my type of lip shades too!
Total so far – $32 USD

Now we have two Lippie Pencils in the shades Cool BFF and Ashton and these retail for $6 USD each. Cool BFF is a nude/brown shade and Ashton is a deep taupe shade. I have also tried Lippie Pencils in the past, and I didn’t get much use out of them. This was mainly because I never really reach for lip pencils. However, I do have lip glosses and lipsticks that are super similar to these colours so I am willing to try them out and see if I can get them to work for me.
Total so far – $44 USD

Sticking with lips, next up we have an Ultra Blotted Lip in the shade Vitamin Sea and this retails for $8 USD. Vitamin Sea is a beautiful orange terracotta lipstick. I haven’t tried the blotted lip trend before, and I don’t really know how to apply them, but I am excited to test it out. From what I can find, it has a matte formula and is more sheer than a proper matte lipstick.
Total so far – $52 USD

Last for the lips we have a Ultra Glossy Lip in the shade My Forte and this retails for $8 USD. My Forte is a fun duochrome gloss. I am super into glossy lips at the moment, so this is a welcomed addition to my collection. I am so excited to see how this looks over some of my lipsticks!
Total so far – $60 USD

Now we have a Super Shock Cheek in the shade Seismic and this retails for $8 USD. Seismic is a warm-toned, light peach highlighter with a sparkle finish. I honestly love ColourPop’s Super Shock Cheek highlighter formula! This seems like such a beautiful shade also so I will be definitely using this one a lot.
Total so far – $68 USD

Moving onto eyes, first up we have a BFF Liquid Liner in the shade Make Luv and this retails for $8 USD. Make Luv is a super fun yellow shade. Now, I don’t do eyeliner a lot but this shade looks so bright and beautiful that I can’t wait to play with it. I have heard lots of mixed reviews for these eyeliners so I am keen to make my own opinion of this one.
Total so far – $76 USD

Next we have a Creme Gel Liner in the shade Boots and this retails for $7 USD. Boots is a cool-toned, fuchsia matte shade. Again, I have heard so many mixed reviews about these liners so I am excited to test this out for myself. The shade is so fun and vibrant too, fingers crossed it shows up this vibrant and bright on the skin!
Total so far – $83 USD

Now we have a Creme Gel Colour in the shade Spring Day and this retails for $7 USD. Spring Day is a beautiful icy blue shade. I have tried some of these Creme Gel Colours in the past and loved them so much. You can use them as a base to eyeshadows or as a liner. This shade is so fun and vibrant also, so let’s hope it performs amazingly!
Total so far – $90 USD

Next up we have a Creme Shadow in the shade Agave Bloom and this retails for $8 USD. Agave Bloom is a warm-toned beige matte shade. Now I couldn’t find ANY Creme Shadows on the ColourPop website and I am a little sure of how this one works. To me, it looks more like an eyeshadow base which is how I think I will test it out first (although it does look a little too dark to work with my skin tone). The lid on this one was loose when I opened it and I really hope it isn’t too dried out.
Total so far – $98 USD

Now we have a Jelly Much Shadow in the shade Desert Days and this retails for $9 USD. Desert Days is a pink shade with a sparkle finish. I haven’t ever tried a Jelly Much Shadow before, and I have heard lots of mixed reviews on them from friends in the beauty community. Once again, I am so keen to test this out for myself as the shade looks beautiful!
Total so far – $107 USD

Sticking with eyeshadows, now we have two Pressed Powder Shadows in the shades Sweet Spot and Fine China and these retail for $4.50 each. Sweet Spot is a warm-toned matte yellow shade and Fine China is a cool-toned matte blue. I am disappointed with these simply because I have BOTH these shades in my collection already as they feature in two of the 9 pan monochromatic palettes I own. I can honestly say that these will be handed over to someone else who will get use out of them.
Total so far – $116 USD

The last two eyeshadow products are palettes from their Animal Crossing Collection and these retail for $12 each. 5 Star Island palette contains 4-pans and is full of pastel pinks and a pop of yellow with a range of finishes. Labelle of the Bal also contains 4-pans and features fun lavender and purples with a range of finishes. Honestly, I have never played Animal Crossings, and never will, so this collection doesn’t excite me at all. I think out of the two, the purple palette will get more use for me personally. I will admit these are cute though.
Total so far – $140 USD

Moving onto skin care, now we have two Face Milk’s in the scents Acai and Pineapple and these retail for $14 USD each. These look like some beautiful products and I have heard lots of great things about them. My skin will definitely appreciate these so I am super excited to try them out. The scents are also extremely beautiful.
Total so far – $168 USD

Next we have the Brightening Serum Boost in the scent Tumeric and this retails for $12 USD. This dermatologist tested product is safe for all skin types and is pumped full of superfoods that help to enhance skin tone and give your skin a healthy glow. Now this sounds so beautiful and I am keen to test it out!
Total so far – $180 USD

The last skincare product we have is the Body Milk in the scent White Peach and this retails for $10 USD. Again, I have heard some amazing things about these Body Milk’s and I am so excited to finally try one out for myself. The scent is beautiful and the packaging is even better! This product is meant to help to hydrate thirsty skin, and my skin has been thirsty AF lately!
Total so far – $190 USD

Last, but certainly not least, we have the SolBody Shimmering Dry Oil in Sterling Silver and this retails for $10 USD. This dry oil has multidimensional shimmers which will make your skin really glow. I am worried I will resemble a vampire from Twilight when I use this, but I will test it out and see what happens. If I do resemble Edward Cullen, it will be a strong pass from me!
Total so far – $200 USD

There we have it Beauties, that was everything in the ColourPop Mega Mystery Box! The total of buying all these products separately would have been $200 USD which is crazy to me. This box had really great value and contained some amazing products that I can’t wait to add to my collection and try out.

If you want a review on any of these products please don’t hesitate to leave me a comment and let me know! Also, if you have heard of any other amazing mystery boxes that you think I should check out, let me know.

That’s all for now Beauties!
X

  1. ColourPop is a brand I always wanted to try but it’s not available on shops in my country and I always feel reluctant to buy makeup befor sampling. This Mystery Box looks really good though and an amazing value for money!

    1. I don’t have it available in shops here either so I’ve had to always buy online. I have been wanting to try some of their foundations and concealers but it’s hard to pick the right shade sometimes! All their other products that I’ve tried I have loved so it’s definitely worth getting some X
